Windows 2000 is screwing up with the colour...

edited March 2007 in Software
OK so I reboot my computer after installing Windows Installer 3.0, and my desktop icons are in 256 colour (or maybe 16) mode. Everything else is still 32-bit...here's a screeny of what I mean.

Anyone know whats up with this? I have an ATI Rage 128 Pro and a 17" monitor without drivers (yes the monitor works perfect without drivers). Yes, cables are fine, played around with settings, yes I've rebooted.

  • Check under "Appearance" or one of those tabs. I think there's an option that's something along the lines of "Use all colors to display icons". That or try clearing the icon cache.
