  • wow that kinda goes hand in hand with what PC Pro magazine has just said about the new graphics chips, for domestic markets there's very little difference (right now) and that more or less the CUDA based programing these cards and chips offer would probably be better used in a highend workstation enviroment.

Still the final sentance has it right that does look awesome.
  • I think if you do that, it's more to show off than to play games with.
  • Well, If 4 GTX480's performs like 3 ones on SLI.. They're a total waste of money, but they make an ideal show off PC anyway..... :P

P.S: I'm really surprised of those similar results between both setups :S
  • So if I'm reading that right, only two (in CrossFire) of the ATi Radeon HD 5970's performs better than 3 of the GTX 480's?

in the benchmarks, the nvidia optimized games on a nvidia card runs better.
and ati optimized games run better on ati cards. (but we knew that already).

so while in some of the benchmarks the 5970 in crossfire ran better,
in other benchmarks the GTX 480's ran better.
