USB 2.0 via ISA

Stupid question, I know. But do people ever do that?
At least, USB 1.1? Though I would assume its bandwidth is far greater than that of ISA, isn't it...

  • I don't believe such a thing exists. Definitely not for USB 2.0 and most likely not for USB 1.1. There's a few other factors besides bandwidth at play here that would seem to make such a thing not possible or so painful it's not even worth it.

Speaking of bandwidth, a 16 bit ISA has a max bandwidth of 15.9 MBps, plenty for USB 1.1's 1.5 MBps and not even close to USB 2.0.
  • hm interesting. Well just USB 1.1 would be a relatively easy way to attach storage to something ancient; I was considering doing something like that with BasicLinux for fun. Whatevs. Thanks.
  • I have seen ISA USB 1.0 cards for sale on ebay a few years ago. You might want to try to look there.
  • 1.0? lol. I just might though, after I get some DDR2/800 for an extra desktop.
