KVM switch

Got a small OMega smart KVM switch KVM2711. It only wants to work for a few minutes then freaks out. I cracked it open and what I can see there is a 16v rated 100uF cap that busted. I'm going to replace it and see it it works. Hopefully the ROM isn't effected since the trace looks like it leads from the cap the ROM chip.

    Did you buy this new? Sounds awful quick for a cap to bust even if it's a bad cap =(

    Was given to me a while back and I finally decided to try it out.

    Yea the KVM switch is a goner. Replaced the blown cap and the video is all garbage. Puts vertical red lines on the screen. Typical sign for these things.

    Yeah certainly sounds like some cheap shit.

    That does remind me though that I do have two of these big ass KVM's. I believe they're 12 ports or so. I really should go through all my old hardware like that and eBay it one of these days.

    I went through all of my stuff and trashed about half of it.
