Microsoft Product Line
The high performance software

Microsoft offers a wide variety of quality software and hardware products to meet your business and personal needs. Productivity tools, a full spectrum of languages. Hardware. Educational and recreational software. We also design systems software like MS-DOS, the operating system of the IBM Personal Computer.

The productivity tools are our newest series of software products for business and personal use. These high performance software products are designed to make full use of the full capability of your personal computer.

They're equipped with powerful features to help you do your job better. And faster. Yet for all that power, our productivity tools are still easy to learn and use. And once you've learned to use one, it's even easier to learn the others.

For instance if you're familiar with the Microsoft Multiplan electronic worksheet, you'll learn to use Microsoft Budget or Microsoft Word faster. That's because our productivity tool are closely related. The commands look alike and work in much the same way in each product.

All of our productivity tools feature a message line that suggests your next action or explains any problems. And, most important, they let you work the way you think -- in English.

A Word About Microsoft

We started in 1975 with one product, Microsoft BASIC, the first BASIC for microcomputers. Today we offer the broad range of software and hardware products you see inside. And more.

When you buy a packaged computer system, there's a good chance you'll get Microsoft software with it. Like our MS-DOS, the operating system used by 9 out of 10 16-bit computers, including the popular IBM Personal Computer. Or Microsoft BASIC, the most widely used microcomputer language in the world. Or even one of our productivity tools. The fact is, more microcomputer manufacturers provide Microsoft software with their systems than any other brand.

Why?

Because Microsoft has a reputation for technical expertise and innovation in all areas of software development. And because our exacting standard, through research and quality control result in software products that combine powerful features with ease-of-use.

Microsoft. The high performance software.

We have 2.02 for DOS on the site, but it is always good to archive all revisions. if you want to try and send it up, that would be great.

It really is interesting in retrospect how few products they had originally. And they were competing against many bigger companies with many existing well established products.

Certainly a few interesting ones on that list, I hadn't even heard of that muMath before.

For anyone who had not seen it, there is also a 1983 IBM product list here:

And, while searching around I found an earlier 1982 Microsoft product catalog here:

  • Might be a good idea for someone to buy it and scan it, as ebay only keeps images up for so long.
