How To install MS Visual Studio 6.0 and MSDN VS 6.0 ?

edited March 2020 in Software

Hi guys,

I downloaded Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 Enterprise (6.00.8168) and MSDN - Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 from winworldpc.
Both downloads were zip files. I extracted them using 7zip.
MSVS6.0 gave me three separate iso files and MSDN extraction gave me 2 separate iso files.
I can use 7-zip to extract content from iso files.
Now do I have to have a separate folder for each of the iso files or I extract them to the same folder. But there are some files that have the same name. So what do I do, auto-rename them or just replace them ?
Any help and guidance is appreciated.
Thank you.

  • If there are files that have the same name, preferably extract each ISO to its own folder.

    Thanks.
I m doing that right now.
But each time I extract to a separate folder, 7-zip gives me the message, "there are some data after the payload data", even for the last iso file.

  • You can disregard that. It shouldn't affect the integrity of the files as I've successfully installed VS6 using that method.
