  • For a piece of software released in 1999, I'm surprised that it came with a Windows 3.1-like appearance, even with the eight-character limit for file names when saving text files of recipes that take your fancy. However, as useful it is, it's rather buggy... not sure if this is a bad dump or something.

    Well, it is a 16bit Windows 3.1-native application. Some of these can and will be buggy. Maybe there are race conditions or something?

    Some of these titles were being released at a time when NT was starting to exceed 3.x (but not 9x) in importance and popularity yet include 16bit executables relying on non-winNT/2k friendly 16bit help. The argument was probably that they won't be found on the same machine as 3D Studio Max or IIS, so it's better to not go 32bit just yet.
