  Hello, what is the difference between these two versions?

  The first one is likely the original release, specifically the one for the TI-994a. The second one is the Solid Gold release from 1987 for MS-DOS.
  

  the Solid Gold edition games include Infocom’s “InvisiClues” hints as an in-game feature, the game engine (“Z machine”) was updated to version 5 (which features a more versatile parser), and most bugs squashed. The Solid Gold therefore became the best edition of Infocom classics to own and play.

  The image included in the download disputes this, though. It makes no mention of the Solid Gold edition and is copyright 1984.

  Both of those were from my own collection. I don't know why the DOS version has a different copyright date on the label than what is on the disks.
  
  There should only be one product page for both of these. Ooops.

  It's a different story, but If you look at Infocom's games, they are for IBM in the early 80s.
  Most versions are PCbooter and include disk copy protection, but the level of copy protection was not so high.
  Those that were revised for DOS did not have copy protection, but those that were still released as PCbooters included copy protection.
