I know not technically an offer more of a request! Does anyone know what the last version of Fractal Design Painter šŸ‘Øā€šŸŽØ was before Corel bought them out?

    Well, Version 8 was when Corel changed it & was full Corel and they changed the GUI, simplified the brush engine, screwed it up, Version 7 is the best with full-bore features but it wasn't Fractal... Fractal was up to version 6...

    Don't have it on this machine & can't remember company name... It's one I use but haven't touched it in a long time>>>

    I saw a book šŸ“• referencing 6 but then nothing really after that. I have been searching for 6 but nothing as of yet. 7 and 8 would be nice too.

    Painter was initially published in 1991 for the Macintosh system by Mark Zimmer and Tom Hedges, founders of the Fractal Design Corporation. Zimmer and Hedges had previously developed ImageStudio and ColorStudio, both image-editing applications, for Letraset. John Derry joined Zimmer and Hedges during the release cycle of Painter 1.2. Derry had gained previous paint software expertise at Time Arts, a developer of the early desktop-based paint applications Lumena and Oasis. Fractal Design later merged with RayDream, then with MetaTools to become MetaCreations. Metacreations sold off[when?] all their creative interests and Painter was acquired by Corel Corporation where it was temporarily rebranded "Procreate" Painter during its transition into the Corel Suite of graphic applications. Painter is now wholly owned and marketed by Corel.

    The wiki thing is pretty close... Yeah it was 'Procreate Painter 7' & they had not had the time to screw it up yet... Full Flavor still... I had problems with it giving me an 'out of tiles' error when starting but I found an update which fixed that issue...

    Still the best version... a couple years ago I tried a Corel Painter 2022 Portable on my ASUS netbook windows 10 what junk it was... DELETED!

    Versions earlier than 7 probably need the 'memfix' patch lest they crash in systems that have more than a GB page file...
