It looks like Windows XP but build number is 5.2.3790.srv03_sp2_qfe.150316-2035
OOBE and OOBE music is from XP
Build number suggest its Windows Server 2003 SP2 build
Product key is from Windows XP SP1 (XP8BF-F8HPF-PY6BX-K24PJ-TWT6M)
Looks like Post reset Longhorn 3790 build but it lacks build tag on bottom right and its SP2 instead of SP1
No time bomb
No activation required (cracked maybe or clean build?)
No help us improove on first boot
Can be installed on current date
Setup is from Windows XP
Come with Windows Media Player 10
Everything else is as on normal Windows XP instalation

  • Looks like XP x64. The AMD64 version of Windows XP was based on Server 2003.

This build is from March 2015 (judging by the build tag), so that wouldn't make sense.

I'm guessing someone applied a Professional SKU to Server 2003, somehow.
  • It's a known hackjob called "Windows XP Kernel Update", that uses files from Windows XP and multiple Longhorn Omega-13 builds.
  • so its mix of XP Server 2003 and Vista ? whats the point of such OS ?

lolol - well, here we are, 10 years later - still talking about it.
Right up there with hot dog eating contests - but no one throws up afterwards...

Additional: Took a look-see with hex editor. Curiously, the file system is straight up ISO9660 w/ Win/Unix 31 char length, yet buried in the top of the ISO is "El Torito Specification. And, it IS bootable.

Most importantly, it has a mastering date of August 26, 2024, the \i386 dir is also - so this is not some ancient frankenstein...

    EDIT: Found it (I think):

"Windows XP Build 5.2.3790, "Kernel Update"
"The Kernel Update project is to make the Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Trial into a customized Windows XP Professional. This will allow users of Windows XP to upgrade to the Server 2003 platform retaining the Windows XP UI (GINA, and all.)"
