My copy of Microsoft Learning DOS 3.00 came in the mail. I will make disk dump of Microsoft Learning DOS soon.

  • This is disk content of Microsoft Learning DOS 3.00 1991. The files are dated 5/06/1991 I used external 3.5 floppy drive I got from eBay for 15 dollars. On Windows 11 25h2 laptop copy files from 3.5 floppy drive to hard drive. From the file on the hard drive, I create IMA file using Winimage.

  • Is there any chance you could create an image directly from the floppy using WinImage rather than creating a non-authentic image?

I hope you remembered to write protect the disk, as Windows tries to write stuff back to the floppy even if you just view it.
  • I used Write Protect for the floppy disk. Microsoft Learning DOS 3.00 download has Microsoft Learning DOS 3.00 files from floppy disk. For those do not want use create image you can use files under folder FILES. You can use files under DOSBOX there work fine. @SomeGuy I do not know how to create image directly from floppy disk that I why used WinImage to make the images.

@johnlennon364 to create a proper disk image using WinImage:
    -exit WinImage if loaded
-write protect your floppies (lower the tab so you can see a hole on the left side of the disk when looking at the disk label)
-insert the first disk in your USB floppy drive
-connect the USB floppy to your computer
-start WinImage, go to menu Disk and select Use floppy A:
-go to menu Disk and select Read disk or press Ctrl+R
-if there are errors during reading, press Retry to try again
-when finished reading, go to menu File->Save As.... Change type to Image file (*ima). You can name the images disk01.ima, disk02.ima and so on

Remember to change the type every time you save another floppy image.

If the floppy has on-disk copy protection, you can't use WinImage or IMA format to create the image. You'll need a KryoFlux or use a retro computer with an internal floppy drive and Teledisk or similar software.
