    In case anyone was wondering, DESQview/X 2.1 works booted off MS-DOS 6.22 HDD image in DOSBox. (tested with DOSBox 0.74, SVN-Daum, and ECE)

  • what do you write as the serial number?

  • Working serial: 000-16X-00009

  • Serial for DESQview/X 2.0: 000-15X-011980

  • Generate your own serial numbers for DESQView/X 2.1. It's easy. Here is how to do it.

    Serial number format: AAA-BCC-DDDDE
    AAA and DDDD are numeric fields.
    B seem to accepts any character. (including punctuation)
    CC appears fixed as "6X"((likely a product identifier).
    E is a check digit.

    Checksum rule for "E":
    Let the digits of AAA and DDDD be summed.
    Take the ones digit of that sum, and compute its 9's complement:
    E = 9 - ( (sum of digits) mod 10 )
    Or, if you don't want to calculate the check digit yourself, just brute force it, in 10 tries or less, guaranteed.
