  • Try using your computer name instead of localhost or 127.0.0.1, OR the network adapter's IP. Wait.... What Ip are you trying to access it from?
  • i can do it like that but when i type bod.alturl.com it says access denied
  • Try from:

    127.0.0.1
    192.168.x.x (The local one)
    Your external IP
    Your external DNS

And add whatever port # you're using if it isn't 80.

  • heh, I just turned off the firewall, and told the security center to pay attention to nothing.
  • Why not uhhhh.. .disable the security center?
  • cos them im without a firewall

it works wiht evrything except my external ip and dns

EDIT: this is so retarded, im having to use a proxy to access my own site!!
  • Umm, Security Center does NOT need to be on for Windows Firewall to work I don't think...

    -Q
  • i dont really wanna take any chances....

ok i turned off the LAN's firewall (which is on for some reason) but i still can access my server from my external IP or DNS
  • If you don't want to take chances, get ZoneAlarm and DITCH WINDOWS FIREWALL.

Did you forward the required ports (80, or something else if your ISP is poor).

    -Q
  • ive got 80, 21, 443, 110, 25 and 5800 fowarded

and zonealarm doesnt work with ICS
  • Well I can get to your site, can you PING/TraceRt yourself?

    -Q
  • yep i can ping myself
  • OK then TraceRt yourself.

    -Q
  • err TraceRT???
  • Like PING, but instead of typing PING, you type...TRACERT !

    -Q
  • i get

"Unable to resolve target system name bod.1988.dyndns.org."
  • It's bod.1988? I thought it was bod1988...

    -Q
  • oh shit..... ill try again

    "
    Tracing route to bod1988.dyndns.org [80.43.183.158]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

    1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms Bens2 [80.43.183.158]

    Trace complete."
  • And when you type in 80.43.183.158 into Ffx what does it say?

    -Q
  • the connection was refused when trying to contact 80.43.183.158
  • Try running the serverer on port 85.

    -Q
  • same response
  • Do you have a router?

Try getting a friend with the same ISP to contact it.

    -Q
  • nope im getting one in the next week or so i hope....

i dont know anyone with the same ISP as me... but ive gotten a few ppl to look at it thru IM and they dont have any problems, when i ran a site off my laptop i could access it
