OK, so I discovered something new in Ffx.

Go here and click on any one of the xpis. Notice that something shows up @ the top of the windows saying:

"To protect your computer, Firefox prevented this site (enigmail.mozdev.org) from installing software on your computer."

Now is it just me or is the "bar" and the text in it a little similar to XP SP2s IEs "Information Bar"?

  • what do u mean by "xpis"
  • The downloadable files, they all end in "XPI". That's a Mozilla extention.

  • lmao! wtf thats weird
  • Yea, I think I saw that. Maybe I saw the IE ones, because I just had to run some updates. It sure does look like it, though.
  • It looks similar/nearly the same ... so what? :-P Does Microsoft have the sole permission to use an information bar at the top of their browser? Nope.

If it's the best way to do things, why not do them that way? Besides, Firefox is supposed to lure people in to switch away from IE ... if the change is as comfortable as possible, they're more likely to stay.
