I found a bug in iMovie

edited November 2004 in Software
At least I think. I'm working on a short film, and, about 19 minutes and 12 seconds into the movie, the audio will go out of sync with the video. It rejoins a few seconds later. I think that the Apple engineers used a signed short for representing the frames - but why they would need negative numbers is beyond me. The point I mentioned is about 32000 frames in, near the upper limits of that data type. Anybody here that can verify this?

  • Uh....how reliable is an eMac? I'm doing this down at the library where I had no control over what they bought. This has happened in two films so far (but one near the beginning).

  • Don't use iMovie, use Windows Movie Maker, MUUUCCCHH better.

Though you need to find a computer with Windows XP on it.
  • Like I said, I can't control the hardware. I rather like OS X though...I wish I could have been able to talk them into an iMac or something.

Tom - I've never seen that happen.
