Winamp eats 100% CPU time

edited December 2004 in Software
My winamp is really crappy lately, when I start it, it takes 100% CPU time (even when i'm not playing any songs) and it makes the complete system run like shit. I dont have any visualization or effects turned on. Anybody have any suggestions? I'm running winamp 5.07 now, but other/older versions do not work or do the same thing.

EDIT: Its working! I uninstalled winamp and deleted the folder afterwards.

  • That's Nice....
  • I think the problem was that Winamp's priority was set to realtime.
  • I have winamp set to realtime right now and its not using alot of CPU or making my system have probs, its using 0%
  • I have the new version of WinAmp and it doesnt take up a BIT of my CPU, but when I have visulations on it's a TINY bit choppy. I never used to use WinAmp, and Now I use it alot...

  • Priority time was not the problem. I'm still not sure what has caused it, but I'm glad it works again.
I'm using Winamp 5.07 with the Analog VU meter plugin and sometimes the Shoutcast Source DSP.
