I found this to be really cool.
You can get some starter code from wiredbots (http://www.wiredbots.com/tutorial.html) and then you can make your own AIM bot.
I've been working on mine for quite a while (since 11/20/2004). Actually responds correctly to things. (sometimes). Some of you have met it before (by accident or intentional).

you can ask it what its name and date, and time is, and it will respond with real answers. the rest are random answers based upon certain words and punctuation marks.
