DVD burner that also burns a label onto the label side of CD

I saw a comerical not to long ago for a HP. It has a DVD burner that eches the label onto the label side of the disc, it's called LightScribe. I don't know the specs of the DVD but I want to know if anyone has heard of this and might know where one would beable to buy the drive instead of the whole system. I'm to lazy to make labels for my CDs and I hate using a marker, it makes the discs look cheap.

I think it might only be the discs and special software that does this. I'm looking into it as we speak.

Ah, who would need that kind of things? a CDR marker is always faster, and I dont look at the artwork on a cd, just the title, then it disappears out of sight in the drive or the box. And, it's like ultra-expensive.

I think it's neat. I wish I had that when I sat in my room for hours making labels for my old band's demo album.

I've been doing a lot of research on it and HP has only been the only company that has made lightscribe. I think sony made something similer but not as a combo and not for home use.

The first Firewire one is only $199.

It's external but it looks as if you can remove it from the enclosure and use it on a regular IDE channel.
