the W95 original .cab files?

Which of the .cab's would you extract to get the computer to boot from Win95 and finish the installation? (Saying I use the cab's intended for Windows 95 Original setup)

  • That's a really...wierd question. Do you mean you want to manually set up Windows?
  • Thats what it sounds like to me.
  • it's PRECOPY1.CAB but I dunno what are you trying to do
  • Yeah that is a bit of a vague question.. when setup is running , the GUI
that displays while running is the mini.cab , which is mini win3.1 ,as
slash said though precopy1.cab gets the ball rolling but I'm pretty sure
you cant extract the cab files manually & run the setup because the
setup.inf file tells setup where the files are + their sizes, so basically
when setup starts it's looking for specific file sizes within the cab,,I'd
imagine you could run setup with them extracted MAYBE ,but only if
it asks where all of the 3000 or so files are as it looks for each one.
Definately a boring time consuming task.
  • It looks in the folder, then the cabs.
