    thats just the exe file, i need the iso

    Just copy the exe file to a blank iso using something like BurnAware Free.

    Is this only for x86 versions of NT or will it work on the other platforms too? Specifically PPC.

    @jlj945 According to the downloads on WinWorld it is x86 only, but BetaWiki claims that Alpha, MIPS, and PowerPC versions were available. As I don't have a PowerPC machine and emulation currently seems to be impossible, I can't check.

    As I drill down thru the 2 release versions, the link gives basic instructions for installing New Shell.

    I've not seen any other platform than the x86 build available - doesn't mean its not "out there", just noting.

    My recollection, back when this was fresh, is I installed whatever build of New Shell floating around, on a bone stock install of NT, without a hitch.

    Then NT 4 came out, and I never gave it another thought.
