PC Dos 2000

How do I make a disk image of my current C: drive? I want to make a copy of my C drive so that I can use this copy to install it again as it was at a future date. I can create it on CD or Floppy if that helps.
Is there a particular command like makedisk?

  • I would use symantec/ Norton ghost .

The way that I do it is :

    1. make a 2nd partition that has ghost.exe on it
    2. boot the computer using a boot floppy
    3. run mouse.com if you want mouse support ( I keep it on the 2nd partition as well just in case if its not the boot floppy)
    4. run ghost.exe from the 2nd partition, you can have the ghost program on the floppy as well, but the newer version I use is too big to be put on floppy.
    5. select in ghost , you want to image the C partition, and have it put on the 2nd partition
