Making DOS 6-readable IMG Files

I have used the IMG files on this site to install DOS 6 and Win 3.1 I am wondering how they are made. I tried IMGBurn, but using the "Create IMG file from folders/files" creates unreadable "diskettes". I understand this is not a forum for discussing IMGBurn, but may I ask which program was used to create DOS-readable diskette files?

  • Hmmm, now the you point it out, it does seem kind of odd they called it “img” burn when it actually burns ISO files. Although some very early CD burning programs did use the .IMG extension. Probably all of the good names were already taken :P

But regardless, ImgBurn is ONLY for reading and writing optical CD/DVD/Blueray media. It has nothing to do with floppy disks.

For floppy disks, you use WinImage or a similar utility.
