Is it a good idea to install win 1.04/dos 3.20 on a 8088 4mhz??

I think it is a good idea, but win 1.xx is slow as hell. check the reference on the frontpage.
I think Dos 3.20 was supplied with the XT back in the 80's.

i already have Minix/Dos 3.20 installed now after i reformatted.....

Another shell. not microsoft windows. I had a shell called "Quickmenu"on my 386. There should be lots of info about alternative shells on the internet.

On 8088 it is better to use VisiCorp VisiOn, it is my favourite shell!!

I would just use DOS Shell instead. All what Windows 1.x is, is a updated DOS Shell.
