It directly competed with software ports of dedicated word processors such as the Wang Word Processing System (or its clone MultiMate ), Lanier Word Processing Software, Xerox, DEC, or similar.

    This crashes in anything I set up, DosBox, qemu etc. Maybe only works directly on PC. Error message is EXEC CALL FAILED, ERROR CODE = 00. Could this possibly be an OS/2 executable?

    I got it working under Qemu by manually expanding / extracting these files using the DWCOPY.EXE command.

    Now there could be more files that need to be expanded like printer files. But this was enough to let me run the program. There must be an error in the install/setup program.
