Old compaq monitor does not work!

I have this old compaq with Windows XP. When I turned the computer on, everything was fine, but when I moved it from the storage room to my room, it stopped working! Everything is connected properly, but for some reason when I turn on the computer and the monitor, the monitor just diplays a black screen.

    Does the monitor work with other PCs?

    I connected the cable to my laptop, and it did display the image, but when I connect it to teh PC, it shows a black screen and the LED becomes orange.

    Maybe the VGA card has bad caps so if its intergrated get a video card or recap it as caps from the early 2000's are horrible.
