Have you tried the Windows XP drivers on Dell's site? Many times they work out of the box, especially on Core 2 Duo models.

I haven't actually tried yet since I don't know want to install the OS yet if I don't have the drivers for it.

yeah so I tried the xp drivers for the graphics and they won't install

That 1st and 3rd driver is only for Windows 7
the 2nd one doesn't work on Windows 2000
and the 4th one doesn't have anything for 2000
