What is the best emulator to enjoy MS-DOS and the Office package?

Hello,

For example ms word 1.x and 2.x have hdfiles, which perfectly start. But word 3.x wont start on dosbox.

Is there a way to run it without the original Hardware? Dosbox has Problems with "free files in config.sys"

Could someone please help me?

    Use 86Box with MS-DOS 3.30 , word 3x (DOS) installs and runs without any problems.

    I have installed 86box and it run now dos 3.3.

    But i have some Problem with reading and installing the image from word 3.x. it says data broken or something like this.

    Could you please help which machine to use and what word Version would fit...

    I used AMI 386SX clone.
    With word 3x (DOS) run setup.exe from DISK03, then just follow the instructions.
  • ibmpc5150ibmpc5150
    For 8086/8088 CPU and copy protection : PCE (recommend than another emulator), 86box.

    For 80286 or higher : I use PCem, 86box.
