Electric Pencil was indeed the first ever word processing program for personal microcomputers, originally made on (and for) the MITS Altair 8800 in 1976 by Michael Shrayer.
Here is a small article in InfoWorld about this PC version:

According to the info it can run on an IBM PC with as little as 48k, and can run under PC-DOS 1.0.
Reportedly the PC version was a "rewrite", and obviously many years later, so I'm wondering how much was added and how much under the hood it shares in common with the earlier versions.
Also, looking at the documentation it seems the PC version was sometimes bundled with several companion programs: Pencil Ace, and Pencil Tutor. I see Pencil Ace is with this set, but not Pencil Tutor?
