  • No instructions are included, so I thought I would add what I'd pieced together.

    Prerequisites:

    1) You'll need to install any service packs you need before installing this. Also, if you install any service pack later, you'll need to install DX5 again.
Many files with the same name and a newer date stamp already exist, but they are for DX 3, not 5.
    2) You'll need to set Explorer to "Show all files" so DLL files can be selected and copied.
    3) The registry file you need to merge assumes you've installed NT 4 to C:\WINNT. If you've installed to some other location, you'll need to manually update the .reg file before merging it.

    Installation:

    1) Copy all the files from the 7z file to %systemroot%\system32, overwriting any files that already exist there.
    2) In the destination folder, right click on Dx5.reg and select Merge.
    3) Reboot (may not be necessary).
