Messed up video codecs...b

when i recently downloaded a video file (.mpg) winamp wouldnt play it so i tried media player and i said "operation failed due to certification failure" so i updated to WMP9 to see if that would fix it and it didnt so i unistalled WMP and now i can resintall it..


any ideas?

The video is fucked. Or maybe some one changed the extintion from say AVI to MPeG.
