Windows 98 Rundll32 issue

After following a YouTube tutorial for getting Windows 98 to work with Virtualbox, (In the video he used v6.0, I used 6.1.26) and I got the typical Windows 98 error I've been getting no matter what. (the SHELL32.DLL file is linked to missing export SHLWAPI.DLL:tFileAttributesA.) However, upon closing the error down Explorer didn't crash, but Rundll32 absolutely hated it. Since I don't have shared clipboards this may not be 100% accurate but I've been as careful as I can to copy the error details.

I don't know exactly, but my laptop has a sticker that says AMD Ryzen 5 4000 Series.

Maybe that's the issue?

Yeah, Ryzen CPUs and some older versions of Windows don't get along well, but you can try some of the things in that reddit post and see if they help at all.

I had zero success with Win98 SE on my entry level Ryzen 2200u. I found a prebuilt build on PCem, and it worked OK out of the box.
