Microsoft Works was an all-in-one scaled-down Word Processor, Spreadsheet, and Database geared towards the home user. It was released in variants for early DOS, Windows, and Macintosh. Microsoft Works competed against Lotus Jazz, FrameWork, AlphaWorks/LotusWorks, PFS First Choice, and many others.

    I wrote the 720k images (on actual 3.5'' 720k disks) using WinImage 6.45 and Win98. After using the "Compare disk" function in WinImage, the first disk reports "Disk and image are identical (except OEM string)". Anyone has any idea why this is happening?!? Thanks.

    The Windows 9x volume tracker alters the OEM string. Try write protecting the disks immediately after writing the image.
