VMware Tools give you wide screen resolution for Windows 95 98 and ME.

Resolutions available to Windows depend entirely on your video driver, sometimes combined with your monitor type.

I've used short-screen resolutions... I mean "wide-screen" as you call it, on Windows 95 before, but adding those settings was specific to my video card driver.

So, what video card are you using? Or are you using an emulator?
