[Offer] Ashton Tate Framework Premier 1.1 French (SCP, IMG) [5.25, 360K]

This is Ashton Tate Framework Premier 1.1 French

I need some help about this one as it is copy protected. I was not able to run it on 86box.

During install, using command "harddisk c:" from Utilitaire disk, I have an error reading disk after insterting System disk 1.

Would there be another emulator that could run it, with another floppy image format that will better support copy protection as .IMG ?

  • With the help of @tarlabnor (thanks very much!), who provided the .86f images, I was able to run the software from the floppy disk on 86box emulator.

Unfortunately it cannot be installed on a harddisk as the installation has already been done.

Here is the link with images in .86f format

  • Is "Premier" a special version of framework? Or is that just something they added to the French release name?

At a glance, this seems to also work fine in PCE, which usually works with the SuperLock copy protection.

Thanks very much for dumping these disk!

It is a simplified version of Framework I, similar to what Microsoft did with Word Junior and Multiplan Junior.
It’s preconfigured to run on a floppy disk and you have a batch file to change screen driver and printer driver. It doesn’t have the communications module (and maybe other limitations).
The cost of this version was FF 990 (old French franc, which was at that time the equivalent of €275). The full version of Framework was FF 8000 (€2’200).

  • After some experiments with COPYWRIT got an unprotected executable able to run from any floppy or HDD image. Now you don't need FWUTIL.COM, original FWUTIL.EXE and other protection-related hidden files. You might try it in any emulator you like (see attach).
  • @tarlabnor Excellent !
I didn't even think of trying to use Copywrite as I thought it could only work on a disk that was not serialized. It's good to know it's still possible to unprotect a floppy disk that has been already installed on a hard disk.
    Thanks very much !
