Downloaded software

Hey all, newbie here. I collect all versions of Doom. Noticed there are a few copies I don't have. So I downloaded the files.
Is the file extension .7z normal? What software opens these files?

Used 7zip to open the files

Thank you. never heard of it, but it works very well. I like it better than winzip
