    Just so you know, clamAV found a virus in:
    Texture Maker 3.1/Texture.Make_PATCH.exe: Win.Trojan.Win-60 FOUND

    Could be a false positive... or not, I recommend patching in a junk VM, that's what I did.

    Yeah I think when I had kaspersky it flagged it but ESET has always said there's no problem...It's not uncommon for some patches to flag-off because, well...THEY ARE PATCHES!!

    Yes, agreed...Virtually any keygen or patch is surely to be wildly infected with necrotizing fasciitis...Keep the fear UP so sales stay UP....

    same, never needed AV's, but I mostly use Linux/wine and winXP/Win10 VM's

    Several years ago I had a fully functioning copy of Texture Maker until I had a hard disk crash. Reinstalling Texture Maker, I needed a new key in order to unlock it. I bought a new key for $40 but it did not work. Contacting the company was useless and now of course it is not possible. So I am looking for an unlocked version and tried the links given in this thread. Unfortunately, none of them is now working.

    Can anyone help me?

    Welp, you could private message Garcia. Or if you have a bittorrent client, use this:

    That link is from rutracker.org - and they have had it on their site since 2009 (which is where I suspect some folks got it).

    Anyway, the patcher is by FFF which is a known and trusted member of the scene.

    Maybe so, but when I try to download it using Qbittorrent Windows Defender says it is infected with a Trojan and deletes it.

    Very frustrating!

    I took a risk and installed FFF without virus protection and was able to run the FFF installer. However, this appeared to have no effect on Texture Maker 3.1. It still opens up with the message saying that my evaluation version is on Day 31 and therefore has expired.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    On closing, I get this message:




    If I patch, then Texture Maker does not start at all.

    Sorry I dont have talkorbell's original uploaded archive, but I do have it installed, that might help? no patcher, but the patched executable is there.
    I do a virus check on my win10 VM via clamAV and it's says it's clean.

    Thanks for this Garcia. I was able to get the files from workupload.com. Unfortunately, the unlocked version of Texture Maker refuses to run for me - both when I unlock it myself and using your installation.

    I will have to see whether talkorbell can help. Anyway, I appreciate your attempt to help.

    Well, this is interesting. I have two computers, one running Windows 10 and an old one still running Windows 7. Hitherto I have been trying to install your Texture Maker files (and also earlier, the FFF patch) on my Windows 10 computer without, as I have said, success. I decided to see what would happen if I installed your files on my Windows 7 computer. It all worked like charm! I am now back to where I was when I first bought Texture Maker, i.e. a fully working v3.1.

    As a footnote, I have at least one other program which only works properly for me on Windows 7. This is Train Sim modeler.

    Anyway, I really am very grateful for your help.

    The zip to check is the one uploaded here, to WinWorld. Is that the zip you re referring to? 7zip, Winarchiver, WinRAR all report the same:

    While I got your attention: That error you had on the Windows 10 machine "the instruction set referenced memory.... the memory could not be found" is a fairly common issue on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

    I'm not going to play doctor here, but am posting some links that will help you sort it out.
