Hi. I have the installer files and a serial for this version of this but it wasn't obtained from a disk image (the whole directory is just over 14MB). Is this permissible here or does this not meet requirements? Thanks.

Pay attention to the README file regarding OS compatibility (the release date was in 1995). Version 4 won't run at all on XP even with compatibility mode and will run on 10/11 with compatibility but will likely lock up your system as it tries to interface with ancient graphics technology. You're welcome to try better than I did but you have been warned!
Serial (as in the screenshot)- PW300RAZ0002607-EANY-001 (Any name will work.)

By the way, this is the earliest archive available of the Painter website (they're up to version 5 by '97) but the add-ons etc. there (if they're even archived, I haven't tried downloading any) may possibly still work with 4- https://web.archive.org/web/19970211224908/http://www.fractal.com/products/painter/index.html
