OFFER!!!... Native Instruments Generator 1.57 Win32 (1998)... 'And in the Beginning There Was....'

There was the very first of Reaktor, which was Generator... Version 2 they changed name to Reaktor...

Lotta sound for a very small install comes with extra ensembles & such... I was recording stems this morning so I figured I'd upload....

I record to Goldwave through Virtual Audio Cable so I included 2 versions of VAC... One from 1999 for those using ancient machines & a much newer from 2014 that I am using works on XP still...

I like how the Generator transport stays ontop of Goldwave for the sequences that are not MIDI triggered...

Pass is WinWorld

  • Generator has an impressive simple sounds vibe to it!

I didn't like the QWERTY keyboard layout missing keys on sharps... but I'm not a musician or play piano.

I couldn't figure out how to use VAC I'll read the help, it looks interesting.

    Thanks for sharing :)
  • Yeah, There was alot of fanfare when Generator came out in 1998 then copy-cats started appearing...

After install of VAC in Generator first using directsound to hear then switching to 'directsound virtual audio cable 1' for output... In Goldwave setting recording prefs to same but playback to directsound hit 'record in new track & begin recording' button then hit 'run' on Generators' transport or MIDI key if triggered that way in comes signal pretty dope...
  • Hey thanks, your VAC instructions worked in less than 5 minutes!
    Neat, very useful!
    Thanks again :)
