Can't boot PC-DOS 3.00 from Hard Drive

I have tried on both 86box and Qemu
The floppy works just fine, but it will hang after saying "Booting C>>C"
The installation procedure i use is as follows

FDISK
FORMAT C: /S
COPY *.* C:

This works for other versions, like 3.30, but it doesn't seem to work on 3.00

What is the geometry of the drive you are giving it? i seem to recall that some early versions of dos do not like more than 17 or so sectors per tack, which was the standard on IBM PC MFM hard drives.

I believe you can manually specify the geometry for a new hard disk image in 86Box, but not sure about QEMU.

It works here in 86Box.

Fixed the issue, QEMU makes hard drives with 63 sectors instead of the 17 needed

@Mr_Myth As an alternative for me in 86box, I use sys c: right after formatting the drive, then I already copy files.
