[Offer]Macintosh System 5 Chinese Version!

edited January 1 in Offers & Requests
I have been hoping to spread the Chinese Systems for a long time and I recently found a precious Chinese System 5.One is in Trad. and one is in Simp.

They are .img files and I have tried to install them in Mini vMac.

They cannot run ChineseTalk program in 512k
They cannot run in SE/30
They cannot run in II

Here they are!
Trad:https://classicmac.top/downloads/system/TA-System5.1-IMG.zip
Simp:https://classicmac.top/downloads/system/Sys5_CH-1.2_IMG.zip

This is the earliest known Chinese Version Macintosh System we have found till now.

  • After checking the simplified chinese version, yes, it does infact not work on a Emulated Macintosh II in Mini vMac. It's stuck on "Welcome to Macintosh"

It boots on a macintosh plus, but what's weird is that most characters appear as cubes.

On the traditional chinese version, same result occurs.

    @SimpleDiskette Did you see this?
  • @Keven

Uh huh, exact same thing I saw on Mini vMac, characters are cubes, but functions like a normal macintosh.

    Also it's System 4.3 (Finder 6.0) TA1, not System 5.

Possibly the Trad. and Simp. are different System & Finder versions or it's another chinese thing like how chinese windows 3.1 is windows 3.2.

Yeah I saw this at first.Later,I tried to let the System read an empty 3MB disk(I named it Macintosh HD).There are 3 files of a Chinese Version System,I let the System read them all and I copied the 3 System disk into Macintosh HD.Then I restart Mini vMac and load Macintosh HD,then I got a well done system.

Just loaded in the system again, copied both of the 2 disks to one hard drive and now all the fonts are working! It didn't require renaming the hard drive to "Macintosh HD".

After google translating the image, it looks mostly similar to that of a english macintosh system.

In the Trad. Version, same result.
