For those who feel like want to try a true CDE desktop with real-life office-suited applications installed for some retropect but got too little time for seeking out all the abandoned softwares and bang head to succeed all the complicated installations. This is a 86Box ready to launch VM+image. Tri Teal CDE 4.2 and Applixware 4.3.7 are installed on Redhat Linux 5.0.
There's no installation needed. Just extract all fies to a folder of your choice and run CDE.bat or just 86Box.exe to launch.
At LILO prompt, wait 10s or press ENTER to launch the CDE desktop. Use 'redhat' (no apostrophe, please) as both user name and password for the premade profile or create your own user via a root session. To boot to normal multiuser session (runlevel 3); at the LILO prompt, type 'login' and press ENTER. Root password is 'redhat'; enjoy!

Lastly, if you booted to the normal session, you can type 'startx' and press enter to try the default Redhat Linux 5.0 FVWM2-95 desktop with the default set of applications and games installed. You can also run Applix applications here. This looks nice and had been forgotten for a while.
