Step IVward (a play on “Step Forward”) was a code conversion utility released by Ashton-Tate in 1988. It was designed to help developers migrate their applications to dBASE IV. It would convert source code written in other dBASE-compatible languages like Clipper, FoxBASE and Quicksilver and allowed developers to transition smoothly to dBASE IV without rewriting their entire applications.
