Bypassing restrictions on HP OEM discs
Hey there,
As a fun project, I decided to assemble back my first computer piece by piece, which was a HP Pavilion A811 running WinMe. I managed to get the same OEM motherboard used in this model with an HP BIOS and a friend that had the same model as I did made some ISO images of the restore discs, to get that genuine Windows Me experience™.
And then, reality set in as I discovered the hard way that HP has locked down the installation process behind some checks and I have no idea how to get past them, even after trying to poke around the files. Anyone ever tried to bypass those checks?
I can upload the ISO images somewhere if needed.
