Need help with mail server in Linux...

I want to set up a mail server under linux. What do i need to make it work? What e-mail adress will i get?

I have tried to install FreeBSD a couple of times on my server, but it always fucks up. Now i have Linux and it works great! I havent done anything on the mail server front...
