Compaq 5UVME2 Upgrades

Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows what the Maximum CPU Upgrade for the Compaq Presario 5UVME2, with a Duron 900 in it.

Them Bastards! They wouldnt even tell me the Max CPU i can fit into this thing! Well I am running SANDRA, so maybe I dont need a reply...

Knowing Compaq "Internet PC"s I can bet that it's not very much better then what they list, if you can even GET anything to run in it besides what they list.

OK Thanks! I checked SANDRA and it said 1.2 Ghz +, so I could try a 1.2 Ghz Athlon? Or do they have to be Duron (Ewwww). what socket would this be? Thanx

It comes with the fan and crap, but would I need any of that thermal compound shit for it to work?

Is upgrading to a 1.2 even worth the 40 bucks?

First, Duron > Celeron and some P4s.


Get a BIOS update and youll probably get 1.80GHz+

I'm upgrading the BIOS now...

Does 1.2 Ghz from 900 Mhz make any difference in speed. Is it worth it for 40 bucks?

I'd say 300 Mhz will be noticeable.
