is there anyway to speed up the print speed on SME, cos it seems to take ages to send stuff across the LAN........

I don't think that's just SME, when I print over the LAN to the printer on the Imac, it takes FOREVER. You might try changing the spooling on the Windows driver, but that'll just affect the speed of printing 1ce it gets to the server.

CUPS is always slower than Windows's printing system... But it's reliable...

it used to be quite fast but now it just makes ffx freeze, it does print evenutally tho

Windows' printing system is just a crap
Sometimes it doesn't work at all...
For example, the printing queue suddenly ends, etc...

On My Older Pc, Earlier this year,
When you printed from Word 2000/XP,
The Printing manager would just stay there,
and say its doing it, when it wasnt, it would work after a reboot and accessing the file through
another editor.

My printer is done printing before I can even GET to it....
