  • ultra iso is better
  • Yeah, I used magic ISO for a while..., but it limits the size of the ISO you can make. Of course there are ways to remove the trial attributes, but after doing that it still doesn't work right. I have WinISO now.
  • magic iso is a hacked versiopn of ultra isio (or so it seems)
  • Thought it looked similar.
  • Is it just me or are alot of these "*ISO" programs rather shoddy?

It's not just you... they all seems to be hacks of eachother... I only got one in the first place to view iso images quick and easily. Although the ability to edit them directly is nice. And then I use Daemon tools to mount images... with all the virtual work... I don't burn things to cd too often.
  • I use to use WinISO for my ISO editing needs when I had Windows.. Also in Linux you can mount the ISO and give it read/write permissions and edit them from there.
  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • LOL....

Theres a few libaray files from GNU that add Read / Write access to ISO files.
Can't remember the names of them off hand. Just because there are programs for windows that can do it doesn't mean Linux can't you know.

And is there a save button? If anything it probably creates a new image and deletes the old.

but surely that doesnt change the fact that the ISO(whatever format that tom said) is read only?

the onhly way i thought you coulcd edit a CD was to use the INCD thing that comes with nero
  • There isn't a save button. It saves when you unmount it.
  • The user and all related content has been deleted.

ISO just isn't random-writable. The most it can do is make your changes and re-write the entire thing as a stream again.
Yeah... that's what I said, just he did a better job.
  • Crash crash piece of crap crash again...
    that is your MagicISO.
    UltraISO is much better.
  • Alright. I'll get UltraISO. I just wanted to know if MagicISO was any good first.
  • ultra ISO has worked for a while now, really uselful when using VPC and making bootable cds
  • sometimes a boot cd created by ultraiso is not bootable...
