Yes you can Bod. I'm currently using Norton Ghost
myself but I have used the PowerQuest Drive IMage
and it works fine as well. You know the drill I think,
if you don't want to hook up the old drive as slave then
you have to have a backup medium such as a CD burner
With Norton Ghost use the high compression, I've
never had any trouble because of using it. It's just
a little slower than an uncompressed copy but uses
less space. Starting with 2003 Norton can be set up
while in Windows but still has to boot to dos.
I usually just use the floppy to boot and set it up.
    Disk Image uses two floppys.

    Good Luck and congratulations.

  • Most harddrives like from seagate come with software that let you transfer "clone" your files over to the new drive. Just set the new drive as slave and run the program and then set it to master and unhook the old drive.
  • Cant you just install windows on the new drive, make the old one a slave and Copy and paste everything?

    LOL., J/k
  • cos that means reinstalling all programs and losing alll my settings
  • Norton Ghost is the best
  • is there a way of doing it without CDRs? my drive has packed up
  • If you have two computers, you can connect each other via a network and clone the drive that way. Just pop the HD into one and the 120GB into the other... A Direct Cable Connection is another way too. It may, though, depend on which software you use... Use Ghost
  • Is DCC ungodly slow?
  • Yes.

A serial cable is 115Kbitps and a parelell cable is 480 Kbitps
  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • this is kinda irrelavent now :P
  • How is it irrelavent?

I didnt say "Copying"... I said "Cloning" You have that feature in Ghost...
  • cos ive got my new drive and i dont need to know
  • Ah... sooo much issues I had with Norton Ghost...
Try PQ Drive Image... clone your harddrive then take your image to 2nd PC and write the image into it. It's easy!
