IR Remote COntrol

I know there is a program that is freeware that you can use IR as a remote control, anyways, i forgot the name, does anyone know of any programs that can act like a remote control?

windows 95... i just tried WinLIRC, but it just won't work :(
Are there any alternatives?

winLIRC MUST be paired with a control proggie like IRassistant, then it'll work. on win95 too!
