Get PC to a TV in school

edited January 2005 in Hardware
Hello! I have an upcoming presentation and I chose a informitive type presentation on how to fly an aircraft. I am using Flight Simulator 2002. I will be using the teacher's Computer witch is a GateWay 1.2Ghz I think with 98SE on it and 256MB RAM. I dont want to buy a graphics card or anything like a component I have to install or i will get fucked by the administrators. Is there such thing as a VGA to S-VIDEO Adapter to plug to the Integrated Video Card output (where you plug a monitor into) and plug the other end into a TV? This would be VERY helpful as I need to use it instead of the tiny 15". It will be a 32 with S-VIDEO", but not for text, as it would be too blurry. I set the date for this whole thing to be on Feb. 18th, 2005. I think I have plenty of time. Thanks

Nick

  • Does your school have LCD projectors you can use?
  • edited January 2005
Yes we have a projector. What to do with it?

I found a cable but it needs somekind of *new* TV with Component In or I need an adapter box which was 120 bucks but my 2nd period Mac Teacher has a new 40". Ill Ask Him

I would bring in my 9200 and install it and do it that way but that's why the admin is there...
  • Most LCD projectors should have VGA input.

Now, you aren't talking about those things that your teachers write on are you? LOL
  • No! We have One Projector. Do I need a cable?

We have Transparency Machines (aka. Overheads)in ever room and Projector screens in every room too.
  • Does it have VGA input?
  • I think... Ill have to check tomorrow

    Your epenis is teh huge.
  • We had these things called TVators made by Antec at my old school in every room that brough VGA inline to the monitor and by S-Vid to the TV mounted above the computer. Very handy.

What about laptops, does the school have any of them? Maybe better specs?
  • No... We dont have laptops. We got new PC's though. GateWay P4HT 3.02Ghz REALLY FAST!

    They look like these:

plug the computer into the projector and use that.
  • NTL err..Nick, unless your school is using XP, Hyper Threading is useless. I am going to guess that those machines have windows 2000 on them.
  • Haha. P4HT + Small Form Factor case = fire hazard

HT is useless in 2k? A lot of schools do use XP now...
  • All the new ones come with XP Professional. The Semi-old ones (1.7Ghz) have 2K Pro on them, which will probably be switched to XP Pro too.

Yes, 2000 doesn't support hyper threading, although the server editions do with an addon. None of the machines at my school have XP, they are largely a mix of 98 and 2000. I doubt there are many machines with 95 but it is possible that there are a few.

    Woah, thats a slow PC.

I don't think XP would even let you install it on something like that....
  • God you are a retard. He obviosly meant 3.02 GHz.
  • Never mind the fact that the original PC was faster then that!
